No fees are needed to participate.

STEP1

Upcoming auctions

Check our auction calendar via Upcoming auctions if any of your artwork of interest will be auctioned soon.

You can also subscribe to a specific artist’s Wishlist via Register to a Create Alert.

STEP2

Ask for Condition Report

To receive additional images and detailed condition of the lots of your interest, contact Mainichi Auction team.
If you live in Japan, you can come to the preview in Tokyo, held 2 days before auction.

STEP3

Place your bids

You can participate in the auction by : absentee bid(paper form or web form), telephone bid (with our operator),
Or bid from your computer (Live bid).
If you live in Japan, you can bid in person at the saleroom.

  • *Documentation will be asked to all new overseas participants. Registration must be completed before auction-day.

Participate as the sale goes

A.Bid physically

If you are in Japan the day of the sale, you can come to our saleroom in Tokyo and participate in person.

B.Telephone bid

Connect with our operator to bid in real time. English, Chinese, French and Korean speaking operators are available.

Let an absentee bid

A. Online absentee bid form

You can place your absentee bid via our website.

  • *You must be registered to place your bids.
B. Paper absentee bid form

Bid forms are sent to you by email from our staff. Contact our team to receive a bidform.

STEP4

Successful bids

You will be contacted by email to select your preferred packing and transportation options.
Upon your selection, a final invoice will be emailed to you.

STEP5

Payment / Buyer’s Premium

You are required to fulfil payment within 10 days after auction-day. The total amount will include Hammer price, Buyer’s premium,
Consumption tax and eventual delivery costs.

Buyer’s Premium

Buyer’s Premium is not included in the Hammer Price.
Buyer’s Premium adds up to 16.5% of the final Hammer Price.

Payment deadline

Payment must be fully complete and due by 10 days after auction-day.

<Note>: All the payments must be made in Japanese Yen.
Both of the bank transfer charges (sender and receiver) must be covered by the sender.

STEP6

Packing Shipment

Your purchases will be released and prepared for shipment following your payment clearance.
You can use your own carrier or Mainichi Auction’s contracted carrier.
If you have a DHL account number or special instructions, please indicate these on the bidding form.
If you would like to ship your purchases through MA’s contracted carrier, the quote will be available following the sale.
All the charges including insurance, packing, shipping fees and any applicable import duties and taxes by the laws and regulations in your country are at your charge.
