ABOUT MAINICHI AUCTION

Message from the President

Founded in 1973 in Tokyo, we started our business at Art Department of Mynavi Corporation, formerly known as Mainichi Communications.

Our business began with the publication of a catalogue raisonné of lithographs by Joan Miró, the painter active back then. We also introduced European and American prints into Japan by bidding and purchasing from overseas auction houses.
Our first auction was held in 1989, then we opened our own salerooms in 1996. By handling all collecting categories of art and luxury business through the years, we have set ourselves apart as the most successful leading auction house in Japan.

Year 2023 marks the 50th anniversary of Mainichi Auction. Our 50th anniversary provides us an opportunity to celebrate a legacy we have created hand in hand with our clients and community. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all clients for their supports over the years.

Through my own experiences of serving clients for selling and buying, I realize how precious it is not only the artwork itself but also the memories and values every client cherishes.

As the era has changed from Showa, Heisei to Reiwa since the foundation, diverse values have been revealed and the social environment has been transformed accordingly.

Always aiming for the best possible, we continually take on new challenges and contribute to the inheritance of not just arts and culture but also associated memories and values from the past to the future.

With the goal of serving as an intermediary between all people and the world through art, we are committed to enriching a brighter future shaped by arts and culture.
