Mainichi Auction found in 1971 in Tokyo specializes in wide areas of fine art, decorative arts, Japanese crafts, Asian antiques, jewelry, and watches. With a successful history to hold the largest share in the domestic auction market, we offer you approximately 30-35 auctions annually with a broad range of items suitable for your collection.
All auctions and previews are held in our saleroom in Tokyo.
Authenticity
All consigned lots undergo attentive examination by our specialists, including the provenance, authenticity, condition, and approximate market value. We reassure you that estimate prices are given based on this thorough research. Buyers are entitled to ask for a refund of the buyer’s price in case the lot is found to be counterfeit within a year from the sale date.
If you are a visitor or resident in Tokyo, we strongly recommend you to examine the items in person through our previews, held 2 - 3 days prior to the sale. Otherwise, condition reports and detailed images are also always available by request.
Paintings, Prints and Sculpture both by Japanese and International Artists
12-15 sales annually including 3 Main Sales every 4 months, from Japanese traditional scrolls, European oil paintings to artworks by international contemporary artists.
Japanese Crafts and Asian Antiques
7-8 sales annually in both Japanese Ceramics and East Asian antiques. The sale may include Old Imari and Old Bizen, Netsuke, Inrou, Ink stone, Seal stone, Japanese lacquer, and Tea ceremony utensils.
Decorative Art and Design
4-5 sales annually consisting of glassware, Western ceramics, and prints from Art Nouveau and Art Deco style. Porcelain such as Meissen, Baccarat tableware, Antique bisque dolls, music boxes, Design furniture, marbles, bronzes, and carpets.
Jewelry and Watches
4-5 sales annually, providing a broad array of antique and contemporary jewelry, as well as timepieces. We feature pieces by prestigious designers, diamonds, and colored gemstones in various price ranges.
